Musical Toothbrush

During the moving house process, sometimes, small and tiny items get lost among the plastic bags of 'rubbish'. This was what exactly happened to Juan Or's finger toothbrush (the type of baby toothbrush where you slip it into your forefinger to brush). On the day of moving out from the in-laws' house, Mommy recalled taking that finger toothbrush and dropping it into one of those plastic bags containing 'rubbish' and then putting that plastic bag (together with other plastic bags of 'rubbish') on the front car seat. Later when Mommy reached the new house and did the unpacking, Mommy just cannot find the toothbrush anymore! So for that Sunday night, Juan Or didn't brush his teeth.

Never mind, since Mommy was on leave the next day, Mommy would drop by at The Store Sri Petaling to buy a new baby toothbrush. That was when Mommy saw this musical toothbrush (the brand is Sunbaby) which Mommy recalled never to see this particular toothbrush being sold before. Actually, this toothbrush is like a rattle combined into a toothbrush, only thing is that the rattle sound is more melodious than the typical rattle. It doesn't require any battery (which is a good thing!) and it is also not too expensive - only RM4.90!
Since Juan Or is quite a big boy already, Mommy felt the musical toothbrush is able to fit into Juan Or's mouth, so Mommy bought it.

So that night, Mommy showed the new toothbrush to Juan Or. What was his reaction? He was very happy to hold it. Somehow he knew it is a toothbrush because he immediately put it near his mouth, but he seems to see it as a toy also because of the 'ting-ting' sound when the toothbrush is moved. Hahaha.....that's what the toothbrush is made for - to make brushing teeth more fun!  ^ ^

Then Juan Or went on to pose for Mommy the moment he saw Mommy taking out the handphone camera. Now it looks like as if Juan Or is the model for the Sunbaby musical toothbrush (but this is not a Sunbaby advertisement! ^ ^).

But, most of all, Mommy likes this photo the best!

Now you see Juan Or is so happy posing with the musical toothbrush, but when the real brushing began, he refused to open his mouth, started fretting and crying so much so Mommy had to scold him and tell him that Mommy is buying a 'rotan' (cane) soon! With the mere mention of the word 'rotan', he immediately stopped crying and obediently opened his mouth for Mommy to brush!

LOL! That's a nice toothbrush and pretty cheap too!

When Juan Juan refused to brush her teeth, I just told her if she didn't brush it, it will fall soon or later... then she will reluctantly brush her teeth! Sometimes I'll just show her infront of the mirror, "see, your teeth is turning yellow if you did't brush it!" :p

p/s: I used to teach Juan Juan the name and location of each tooth, brushing teeth is nevertheless one of the best time to learn something new! ;)

The tooth brush is so nice and cheap. Good purchase. So good that Juan Or is scared of ROTAN. My daughters have not much feeling towards rotan, unless I really rotan them now.

Nice toothbrush! Never seen this type before. Sometimes, YX also refuse to brush teeth (not in the mood) and I told him there are worms there. If he did not brush them off, the worms will eat his tooth one by one. Then, he will have to visit the dentist. That scare him off! hahaha....

Alice Law and mNhL, actually last time, I told Juan Or that if he doesn't brush his teeth, one day his teeth will rot right up to the gums and nerve, that time forever also in pain, everyday also cry in pain. But telling him that doesn't seem to scare him at all....he still cry and fret. Moreover, that time was still staying in in-laws' house and I know the in-laws are sure to say something if I use or even mention the word 'rotan' to Juan Or. The in-laws are even of the opinion that brushing teeth is not necessary for young children becos it's still the milk teeth! (*pengsan*). That's why I tried to refrain from using or mentioning 'rotan'. Then when I used the rotten-and -painful-teeth-tactic, the in-laws stopped interferring with my effort to brush his teeth, but still is not able to convince Juan Or to brush teeth. :-D

Sheoh Yan, LOL! My son has feelings for rotan but has no feelings for painful and rotten teeth threat.

Small kucing, LOL!

Eugene, thanks for the compliment (on behalf of Juan Or)! :-D And thanks for visiting Juan Or's blog.

For my case, I brush and she follows but refuses to give back the toothbrush no matter how I try to take it away from her... maybe next time I will mention 'rotan'...;)

Nice too brush! Is the bristle of the brush long? When I first bought tooth brush for Lynn, I chose something cute and small too. But she complained uncomfortable due to the long bristle. After that, I bought the First teeth baby tooth paste set (It is very expensive, but the tooth paste is safe to swallow and is recommended by my colleague) she become more willing to brush the teeth.

If she refused to brush teeth, I will tell her no more sweets and cakes since those are bad for her teeth and she's not taking care of her teeth. It works for her. :)

What a creative toothbrush design... nice! Too bad I've never seen this before and Chloe is now too over-aged for this kind of stuff.

Serline, LOL! For Juan Or, I have tried brushing my teeth hoping that he is motivated to brush his as well, but unfortunately, no effect....he seems indifferent.

Cheeyee, the bristles are not too long for toddlers his age. I find it's just nice.

Prince n princess mum, hahhaa, go get it before your kids outgrow them! :-D

Mom Daughter Style, wow, you are so lucky you don't have to try so hard to get her to brush teeth. She's a good girl! Have a nice day ahead.

ChloeRuoyi, what to do? Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog.
