Remember how Mommy discovered just in time about the possibility of Juan Or receiving RM1500 from the Selangor state government and that this amount is only claimable by the time he reaches 18 years? Yes, it's that Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (TAWAS) thingy!
Do you know that the status of the application can already be checked online? Last time (somewhere in March 2009), online checking in the TAWAS website was not yet possible. Well, somewhere in May 2009, Mommy went to the TAWAS website again just to see if there's any update about the TAWAS application. Lo and behold, yes, online checking is made possible already! After keying in Juan Or's identity card number, the result mentioned that Juan Or's application has been received and registered but is awaiting approval and processing. Today, Mommy checked the TAWAS website again and the result says that Juan Or's application has been approved and notifies Mommy to wait for TAWAS to come up with the TAWAS Fixed Deposit Certificate. Yippy!
So for Malaysian mums out there, if your baby is born in 2009, AND if you OR your husband OR both of you are Selangor-born, OR if your baby is Selangor-born, you can apply for your baby. The application form can be downloaded here.
